Shadows and Reflections
Shadows
Artist Statement
Downtown has played a major part in my life. Often, there isn't much to do in Ann Arbor. As I have lived here my entire life, the area can seem a bit redundant. However, the one place that never seems to grow old is downtown. Most of my shadow photos were captured somewhere within downtown Ann Arbor. I like the area because it is always changing. The Panera downtown recently obtained a mural on its side. As well, student life provides really different personalities and perspective. In addition, living in Ann Arbor you often find protests and political movements downtown. |
Reflections
Artist Statement
When I was little, I went to Angell elementary school. Growing up, I often looked out through the playground and could see right into the heart of downtown Ann Arbor. Today, as a seventeen year old teen, I revisited my elementary school at night with two of my friends. My two friends and I all went to that school when we were younger and it was a great call back to that. WIth this, I found myself revisiting and taking photos at a place that has had a huge impact on me. As well, I took a reflection shot of all of us in one of my old classrooms. |
